Siebel Standard Interactivity & High Interactivity
High Interactivity and Standard Interactivity are Types of User interface.
High Interactivity is available for employee Applications supporting highly interactive enterprise users and requires internet explorer 5 or more.
Standard Interactivity is available for customer Application and behaves like traditional web applications, requiring frequent page refreshes.
In simpler explanation we can HI and SI user interfaces are designed to server two different group of user. First group will be the business users, Customer care user, Call center users , application administrators who are using application with all specific software requirements. Second group will be FOS(feet on street), Field executive who will use application from their handheld devices or any machine which doesn’t match software requirement. Only application developed in SI mode will run in systems with different configuration. Also, it will not have little HI stuff which is not required by SI user. Such as you could not find Help, About View, About Srf etc. and few screens like administration application because these are unnecessary for the end user.
Benefits of High Interactivity
High Interactivity is highly used by end user who require full graphical siebel functionality.
1. Reduces the number of page refreshes. User downloads complete html initially and subsequent round trips fetch data required to update page
2. Save record implicitly by stepping off record , i.e. No need to click the save button.
3. Supports High interactive graphical UI Elements such as Flowcharts, Organization charts, interactive toolbars
4. Another benefits of high interactivity is that it allows for Extensibility and Integration, i.e. it extends applications by integrating with third party software on the client side and make Siebel Business objects available on the client side
Difference between High and standard Interactivity The following features are supported only by high interactivity
1. Client side scripting with access to Siebel objects on the client side.
2. Interactive controls such as Calculator, calendars date/time selector
3. Keyboard controls for frequently used commands High interactivity client supports Application levels menus and Appearance of Applet level menus

HI and SI. We have faced lots of issue on our Client regarding HI. Since for HI – IE setting is to be required but it is not allowed in our Client. To resolve this issue we have made cab files from server folder (siebsrvr) but the issue is that whenever we deploy any new patch or QF – we need to revise cab file again. It is difficult to launch the new cab file throughout the environment.

Usage of HI for a Web site could be “over kill”. Although SI is less firendly, it is supported with more browsers and is not asking user for any extra plug-in update
Note that you can heavily customize also SI coding Javscript in web pages.
If you are thinking in a Partner Website, maybe then HI is an option as you will have less and more controlled users
I recommend you to have a look to the Siebel Standard Applications in SI to check
HI is more user-friendly. However, it requires the activex controls to be set properly, and does not work well with hand-held devices. Also, HI is more resource-intensive from the web server perspective.

In order to download a current version of the Siebel High Interactivity Framework, please ensure that your browser security settings are correct and then log in to the application again. Consult your system administrator for details about the Siebel High Interactivity Framework and correct browser settings.
Solution:
Enter User Id and Password for Siebel application.
After clicking on submit button while opening Siebel Client, keep pressing “Ctrl” button on the keyboard.
Automatically it will prompt with the message of installing the Siebel High Interactivity Framework.
Right Click on the bar and click on Install. It will now show the Siebel Screen.

Hi,
I am trying to access siebel using IE. I get same errror as in Ashish's post above.
Initially, I enter user id & password then click login.
I then get a popup that says Launching Siebel,
then another popup prompting "Do you want to install this software" Name : Siebel Option Pack for IE.
When I click on "Install:, the popup then disappears and I get the error message -

Hi!
My company is starting a project to replace all its front-end customer related apps with Siebel CRM. Coming from the Java and open-source world, this is my first encounter with a Siebel application (digging frantically to learn as fast as I could), so I would appreciate very much your input.
I'm concerned about HI potential drawbacks (lock into Microsoft IE, client-side resources demand, non zero-deployment, lack of automated testing, etc.) and have to balance against the pros (rich user experience, fewer refreshes, less bandwith, etc.).
When I read that HI or SI "is available" for this or that kind of apps… should I understand that it's a matter of choice? I mean… Is something to be decided at deployment time, or it depends on what module you bought? We are hiring a Siebel consulting firm to customize our CRM module… It's ok to evaluate and decide which framework they should use, or they will RFLOL at me because there's nothing they can do about it?
Any feedback would be very appreciated!

SI or HI ? this should be considered at the begining of development. Please reconsider your requirement before taking any decision.
The development cost will be high as tecnical configuration will be different. The architecture cost will not increase much.

Hi.., I have a problem with the View "Sales Order-Browse Catalog Category Details View – Category Only", because i see the header(Applet – "Catalog Order Header Form Applet") in Standard interactivity when i selected the catalog in the details. So, If possible to change the applet to High Interactivity?
I Tried to change the Web Template in the View and nothing change, Besides, i change the High Interactivity Enable Property in the Applet Class to Number 2, I insert the high interativity Enabled User Proper in the applet and delete the ActiveX component from IE options and nothing, after compiled all again, and nothing happen, look in Standard Interactivity.
The Applet is used too, in the View "Sales Order-Browse Catalog View" and show in High Interactivity.

When running an application with HI, the Web framework attempts to show views in high interactivity only if every applet contained in the view supports this. Otherwise, the view will be displayed in standard interactivity.
Please also check if the applet contains all control mapping in web layout when the interactivity combo box is selected in High in the 'Configuration Context' tool bar

we are getting some error message during the launching oracle page that some icon look under this screen but it suddenly stoped at last point and receving the error" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" altough some pc is working i m confusing
