This topic describes the background processes that occur when the Siebel Analytics data loader functionality is employed.

Oracle Fusion Applications  five-year integration project is almost completed. Oracle Fusion Applications bring together elements of Oracle's acquisitions – including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel – to create a suite of applications that are built on a common middleware platform. By using a shared platform, the apps are easy to intergrate, Oracle claims.

We can also load Siebel Data & LOV using COM objects. It works like a charm. The obvious advantages are

1. LOVs can be directly exported out of Siebel into csv and copied into an excel. This excel houses a macro with COM object.

Anyone that has worked on projects with several different environments knows the pain involved with getting identical LOVs. You might think: how difficult can it be? 
Try working with 40-50 developers, tight deadlines, multiple builds, corrections after testing cycles etc, and chances are big the LOVs will be out of synch.

This is a very common concern before thinking for a siebel upgrade.  As per Anjneya "It does depend on the customization of the older application while doing upgrade.Higher the custom application higher the risk.
